Authenticity

“I invite you to look through my collections of sea glass jewellery. What distinguishes my designs from other jewellery is the unique pieces of sea glass that mother nature produces from the sea.  Each piece of sea glass has its own history,  shaped by time and tide of the North Sea for over 100 years.

Once I hand pick the raw sea glass from the beaches, it is taken to my workshop.

The pieces are graded and sorted, then decisions are made on what I design with the particular pieces.

Truly beautiful treasures from the sea”

Authentic Sea Glass
The reputation of Victorian English sea glass is known world-wide as the finest quality available for use in jewellery designs. It is this authentic sea glass that is used in our exclusive range of jewellery.

All our jewellery that has sea glass in the design comes from the Candlish glass and bottle works at Seaham.

The Candlish glass and bottle works at Seaham, England was the source of most of the glass discovered on the beaches below the factory site. Discarded or broken glass, at the end of each day, was hurled from the cliffs and then tumbled, eroded and polished by the sea over many years. In its day, the six bottle and glass houses formed the largest glass production facility in Europe and exported across the world. Everything from decorative glass items to the humble beer bottle were made at these glasshouses, consequently (and to our advantage) the volume of production meant that the volume of waste was also high.

At the end of each day, the glass was removed from the inside of the furnaces where the colours sometimes fused together to become what is now called ‘Multi’s. Then the blocks of glass were hurled from the cliffs into the North Sea which then broke them down, tumbled, eroded and polished the glass for over 100 years.

The beauty of this sea glass is extraordinary, all have heavily frosting on the surface due to the hydration process that has taken place due to the glass being in the sea for so long. This also shows the shard is authentic.

Since each piece of sea glass has been individually moulded by nature it is therefore completely original world-wide.

And because of the history and the fact that less glass is deposited after every tide the price will only increase in value as they become so rare.
